In reply, Lancashire put on 36 for the opening wicket before Luis Reece (16) was dismissed. Former Sussex and Northamptonshire all-rounder and current trialist Christian Davis (53*) then hit a composed half century for Lancashire as the Red Rose closed on 127/2 at the close of Day Two.

  • Day Three

Guest and Lilley star on Day Three in Bristol

Brooke Guest hit his first century of the summer for Lancashire Second XI on Day Three against Gloucestershire in Bristol.

Trialist Christian Davis (73) was dismissed which brought Guest to the crease and the former Australia U19 wicket keeper batsman played positively from the outset.

Danny Lamb (15) and Bradley Yates (5) lost their wickets cheaply before Guest and Parry (28) put on a partnership worth 59 for the seventh wicket.

Lancashire's lower order continued to contribute with important runs with Lilley (21) and Buck (20) enabling Guest to reach his century. Mark Chilton's side were eventually bowled out for 394, with Guest (130) the last wicket to fall, a lead of 19.

Gloucestershire's second innings started steadily with the opening pair of Garrett and Noemi-Barnett putting on 59 for the first wicket before Arron Lilley made the breakthrough. Lilley went on to take three further wickets in quick succession to leave the hosts 102/4 at the close.
