SECOND XI Report - Lancashire won by 167 runs
Luke Procter and Brooke Guest both hit centuries as Lancashire Second XI beat Northants by 167 runs in yesterday's 50 over trophy match at Northop Hall.
Lancashire won the toss and elected to bat first but lost two early wickets as Rob Jones and Calum Turner were dismissed cheaply to leave the visitors 10/2.
Josh Bohannon joined Luke Procter at the crease and the pair set about recovering which they did successfully.
The Lancashire duo put on 97 for the third wicket before Bohannon (37) was bowled by Taylor to leave the Red Rose side 110/3.
Procter went to his half century and Brooke Guest, coming in at five, batting positively from the outset as the pair began to attack the Northants bowlers.
The duo continued to playing aggressively and Procter moved to three figures and was soon followed by Guest as Lancashire posted a daunting 336/6 from 50 overs.
In reply, Northants made a disastrous start. Tom Bailey made the first breakthrough in the opening over, dismissing James Kettleborough (1).
Toby Lester then dismissed Home (12) before Bohannon ran out Adair (0) without scoring to leave the hosts in trouble at 24/3.
Matthew Parkinson, playing in his first game of the season after receiving from a lumbar stress fracture, then took two wickets in the 16th over with Northants 83/5. The Lancashire spinner took his third wicket in his next over.
Bohannon then ran out Bramley (15) before Matt KcKeirnan took the final three wickets in quick succession as Northants were bowled out for 169.
