Lancashire Second XI vs Warwickshire
Lancashire Second XI’s excellent T20 form continued when they edged out Warwickshire by just four runs at Coventry.
Connor Dudley got Lancashire off to a flying start after they were put in to bat, hitting four and two sixes before falling for 18 off just six deliveries in the second over.
Josh Bohannon and Alex Davies kept the momentum going, seeing Lancashire to 61 before Bohannon fell for 24 at the end of the seventh. Davies made 44 off 39 deliveries, and some late hitting from Simon Kerrigan and Liam Hurt helped Lancashire to set Warwickshire a target of 162.
The bowlers kept Warwickshire behind the asking rate, with Matt Parkinson taking the key wicket of Sam Hain when he bowled the opener for 50 with 61 runs still required.
Josh Poysden took the hosts near to their target with a flurry of boundaries in the penultimate over, but Danny Lamb held his nerve to bowl Poysden with his final delivery.
Luke Procter showed all his experience in the final over, conceding just three of the eight runs Warwickshire required and taking two wickets help seal victory. Parkinson held on in the deep off the third delivery, and with six needed off the final two balls, Bohannon did likewise at long on to give Lancashire a sixth win in seven T20 outings so far this season.
