Durham battle back to claim Second XI draw
Durham Second XI batted out the final day as the hosts claimed a hard fought draw against Lancashire at Brandon Cricket Club yesterday.
Gurman Randhawa claimed the final two wickets as Lancashire were bowled out for 185, setting Durham a victory target of 330 to win on the final day.
Lancashire made the perfect start dismissing the dangerous Phil Mustard and fellow opener Hickey cheaply, with Durham finding themselves 45/2 thanks to wickets from Jordan Clark and Gavin Griffiths.
Calum MacLeod and Poynter put on 83 for the third wicket before Clark dismissed Macleod and then Parry caught and bowled the latter.
Coughlin and Asher Hart ended up settling for a draw with Durham closing on 244/5.
