Emirates Old Trafford Shortlisted In Three Categories For Stadium Business Awards

EMIRATES OLD Trafford, the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, is delighted to have been shortlisted in three categories at the forthcoming Stadium Business Awards.

The awards are being held in Madrid on June 1 and the Club is encouraging its members and supporters to vote in the Fan Experience Award category.

The Club has been shortlisted along the likes of the Milwaukee Brewers and the San Jose Earthquakes for the Fan Experience Award which saw them team up with partners to launch the Best Delivery competition at Emirates Old Trafford last season, which culminated in a final played out on the middle of the world famous cricket ground during the England v Australia Royal London One-Day International last summer.

This partnership with has already won the Commercial Partnership award at the national Business Of Cricket Awards, run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and is now recognised globally.

The Club will also compete for the Sales and Marketing Award, which will be determined by a judging panel, after being recognised for its incorporation of the US-based Aspire Ticket Marketing Sales and Service (TiMSS) strategy into its sales plans for international cricket matches at Emirates Old Trafford in 2016. This was the first time in UK Sports that a sports venue had incorporated this successful and innovative method into its ticketing strategies.

The Club's recently-appointed Head of Commercial, Adam Pearson, has also been shortlisted for an individual award. Adam, who has been at Emirates Old Trafford for three years having initially joined the operations team to support the Ashes in 2013, has seen a rapid rise and is now, at 26 years of age, the youngest Head of Commercial in cricket and was responsible for bringing large blue chip brands such as and Heineken into Lancashire County Cricket Club's partnership portfolio.

Lancashire's Chief Executive, Daniel Gidney, added: "To be shortlisted in the three categories for such prestigious industry awards really shows how far Emirates Old Trafford has come as a multipurpose venue in such a short space of time.
