England v Pakistan: ODI Highlights at the Ageas Bowl
England cruised to an early lead in One-Day International series against Pakistan with a 44-run victory against the visitors at the Ageas Bowl.
Pakistan, who were looking to get off to another fast start as they did in the First Investec Test Match at Lords back in July found themselves under pressure from the start with early calls for lbw which were waivered away by the umpire, before Mark Wood – fresh from his impressive performance in the NatWest T20 Blast – took the first wicket to leave Pakistan on 25-1.
England continued to keep Pakistan at bay who completing their innings on 260-6, a score which the Three Lions always looked comfortable beating given their high flying form in One-Day cricket against Sri Lanka.
…and this game followed a familiar pattern…
Jason Roy was once again the star of a strong England batting line up, reaching his half-century from 43 balls – with Joe Root also in the ascendancy who also managed his half century, before both were lost in the space of 10 overs.
England finished their innings on 193-3, with rain brining play to an early finish – as the three lions ran our victorious due to the Duckworth/Lewis method.
