Hameed wins Young Player of the Year at Asian Cricket Awards

Lancashire batsman Haseeb Hameed was named the Young Player of the Year at the Asian Cricket Awards last week at the Kia Oval.

In his first full season in First Class cricket, Haseeb Hameed has hit four centuries and seven half centuries at an average of 50 for Lancashire. Hameed hit his maiden First Class century against Warwickshire at Emirates Old Trafford, before further hundreds against Nottinghamshire and then two against Yorkshire! The former England Under 19 International was awarded his Lancashire County Cap, the youngest Red Rose player to awarded the honour since the war.

Hameed was then called up for the England Test squad for the tour of Bangladesh next month to round off a dream season for the Red Rose batsman.

What a Batsman! I have no doubt he will have a great series in Bangladesh and India.
