Hyde Cricket Club To Host PCA England Masters Legends Game
On Friday 19 August 2016, Hyde Cricket and Squash Club will host a Hyde CC vs PCA England Masters ‘Legends on the Low’ Twenty20 match at their Werneth Low ground. This is set to be the biggest fundraising event in the club's history.
Already confirmed to play in the match are 2005 Ashes winners Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard and Simon Jones, plus England legends Mark Ramprakash, Paul Nixon, Alex Tudor, Lancashire legend Neil Fairbrother, Darren Maddy and Usman Afzaal.
The event is an exciting opportunity to raise money towards sustaining Hyde Cricket and Squash Club for the local community and for future generations. The club's ambition is to strive for excellence both on and off the field and ‘push new boundaries’ to remain a club that the members and community are proud of. Funds raised will go towards improving facilities, exciting members and leaving a lasting legacy.
The day is set to be fun filled and action packed for everyone who attends. There will be a hospitality marquee for those wanting to have a ‘day at the races’ type of experience, BBQ and pay as you go bars for those wanting a ‘day at the cricket’ experience, opportunities to ‘meet and greet’ the players, junior tournaments and coaching sessions with the players, pre and post-match activities and entertainment plus much more.
Hyde Cricket and Squash Club Chairman, Keith Duffy, said: “We are extremely excited to be hosting the PCA England Masters at Hyde this August. It will be a huge fundraiser which will help towards the long-term sustainability of the club for future generations.
Our aim is to put on an event that brings the club, its members and the local community together to feel like they are part of something special, and with the line-up of past England Players confirmed so far it promises to be just that.
Please help support this event by buying tickets and spreading the word to all your friends, family and cricket enthusiasts.
We look forward to welcoming you on Werneth Low this summer and we've ordered the sunshine.”
Mark Ramprakash, PCA England Masters Team Captain, said: “I am sure that it is going to be a really great event at Hyde CC in August. We have had some really tough games in the North West over the last few years and this looks like being another.
We know that Hyde are Cheshire Premier League Champions, so we will be bringing a strong team and are looking forward to a competitive game, enjoying the day and making some new friends.”
