Lightning share Emirates T20 Title

Lancashire Lightning and the MCC have shared the Emirates T20 Cup after just seven overs were bowled due to rain in Dubai.

Lancashire Captain James Anderson lost the toss for the third time in a row as the MCC elected to field first in the final at the ICC Academy.

Luke Procter and Alex Davies opened the batting for Glen Chapple’s side and both openers survived a couple of scares early on.

Both opening batsman hit early boundaries and after five overs, Lancashire had moved nicely onto 24/0.

The players were then taken off the field with lightning approaching and never went back on after a storm hit Dubai.

Lancashire are next in action in a two-day game against Yorkshire at the ICC Academy, starting on Sunday.
