Long Room to stage first cricket play
The Pavilion Long Room will stage it’s first cricket play on September 14th after the third day’s play with Middlesex in the Specsavers County Championship at Emirates Old Trafford.
A play about one of Lancashire’s great bowlers S.F. Barnes, written by Andrew Stewart and played with two actors the play explores the cricket career and examines the life of the legendary Staffordshire born cricketer.
Andrew Stewart’s play does not hold back from portraying Barnes as complex, fiercely proud and sometimes difficult man, but at the same time reveals the factors which had created these traits. It shows a cricketer with great pride who refused to bow down to authority and compromise his principles.
It will last approximately 45 minutes and tickets cost just £3.50. Tickets are limited to 60 and are available from the Lancashire Library or The LCCC Ticket Office. It will start at 7pm.
