Nathan Buck leaves Lancashire for Northants

Lancashire County Cricket Club can confirm that bowler Nathan Buck has joined Northants Cricket on a three-year deal.

The 25 year-old had one year remaining on his contract at Emirates Old Trafford but has been released out of his contract early in a mutual agreement with the Club.

The former Leicestershire fast bowler who joined the Red Rose in September 2014 suffered an injury-hit first season for the Club, featuring in just two games before spending last winter in Sydney playing grade cricket for Manly CC.

Buck went on to play a further 17 games for Lancashire this season in all competitions, taking 12 wickets in this year’s NatWest T20 Blast including T20 career best figures of 4/26 at Edgbaston against the Birmingham Bears.

Lancashire CCC Cricket Director and Head Coach Ashley Giles said: “I would like to thank Nathan for his efforts over the past two years and wish him well for the future”.

Disappointing but like Philip agree he flattered to deceive so good move for both parties. Talking of move, I like a few others have vented our anger, disappointment etc on the management and staff on last seasons poor showing, Its now time we moved on, concentrated on our Football teams(up the Toffees) or whatever our winter interests are, and hope the right players come in, and next season sees us challenging rather than clinging on. Until April, I bid you farewell

Never really made the grade, never looked the part.
I think he has been overtaken in the pecking order by some of the academy prospects. I just hope the young lads come through strongly and stake a claim for regular inclusion in the four day game.
