NatWest T20 Blast Flashback: Buttler's incredible half-century

NatWest T20 Blast Flashback: Buttler's incredible half-century

Number three on our list of flashback moments from the 2016 season is Lancashire Lightning’s win over Worcestershire Rapids at New Road – a win which saw Jos Buttler reach Lancashire’s fastest ever fifty in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Lancashire got off to a good start with Nathan Buck and Jordan Clark taking a wicket each by the fifth over – but Worcestershire continued to pick up runs at a steady pace hitting boundaries in what would turn out to be a high scoring game at New Road, with the Rapids middle order looking aggressive with the bat.

Lightning did however manage to keep the score below 200, with Rapids all out for 198.

Alviro Petersen  started Lancashire’s chase at a good rate, but it was Jos Buttler who took the headlines with an incredible 57 runs off just 22 balls (whilst playing with fractured thumb picked up during the game) to help Lancashire Lightning pick up their third win of the NatWest T20 Blast season.

Watch Jos Buttler’s unbelievable innings against Worcestershire Rapids as we continue our flashback moments from the 2016 season.
