Rain affects opening day for Second XI

Gloucestershire finished a rain affected opening day on 185/4 at the County Ground in Bristol, in Lancashire Second XI's final game of the season.

Lancashire Captain Stephen Parry won the toss and elected to bowl first and it looked like an inspired decision as Gloucestershire lost early wickets.

Toby Lester struck twice in four balls to dismiss Gilmore and Cockbain to leave the hosts struggling on 11/2.

The hosts rebuilt their innings through Noemi-Barnett (60) and Benny Howell (92) with the pair both going past their half centuries.

The pair put on 127 for the third wicket before Luis Reece made the breakthrough. Just before the rain started again, Nathan Buck took his first wicket of the day, dismissing Howell with Guest taking a safe catch behind.
