Reece hits century for Second XI against Yorkshire

Lancashire Second XI Captain Luis Reece (134) hit a century on the Day Two of the side’s friendly fixture against Yorkshire at Liverpool CC yesterday.

Tom Smith made his return to action for Lancashire with the bat and made a steady 32 as him and Reece put on 88 for the first wicket.

Lancashire lost three quick wickets as the hosts were reduced to 91/3 with Matthew Fisher dismissing Rob Jones and Jordan Clark cheaply. Danny Lamb came in and steadied the Lancashire innings alongside opener Luis Reece.

Reece was unbeaten on 95 at the tea break with Lancashire at 172-4 before the Red Rose opening batsman went on to complete his century from 211 balls with 12 fours before being trapped lbw to Ben Coad

Lancashire declared at 250 for 7 leaving Yorkshire with a minimum of 8 overs to negotiate.  At close, Yorkshire were 47 for 1 off ten overs with Toby Lester picking up the wicket of Hodd (19), a lead of 158.
