Tom Smith to celebrate career with event at Emirates Old Trafford
Former Lancashire County Cricket Club all-rounder Tom Smith will be holding an afternoon and evening of entertainment at Emirates Old Trafford to celebrate his career on Sunday 23rd July.
The 31 year-old, who recently announced his retirement from cricket due to back injury, is inviting Lancashire Members and supporters to help him celebrate his decade long career with the Red Rose County, alongside current and former team-mates and colleagues.
The event will be taking place in The Point at Emirates Old Trafford on the day Lancashire Lightning take on last year’s NatWest T20 Blast semi-finalists Durham Jets (2:30pm start), with celebrations starting post-match at 17:30pm.
It has been confirmed that England bowler James Anderson and Graeme Swann will be the evening's guest speakers who will also take part in a Q&A.
Smith, who graduated the Lancashire Academy in 2003, made 107 First Class appearances for the Club hitting 8,790 runs, including three centuries as well as taking 241 wickets. The all-rounder also played in 96 T20, 73 List A fixtures and was appointed Club Captain in February 2015 before his injury.
The British Golf Open will be screened throughout the day in The Point.
Tickets for the event, which include a three-course meal and entry to the match are priced at £55 per ticket or £500 for a table of ten.
Lancashire County Cricket Club Members can buy tickets at the special rate of £35 and are available by calling 0161 868 6810.
