VIDEO: Hameed reflects on being named Player of the Year

Lancashire batsman Haseeb Hameed reflects on being named Player of the Year at last week's Gala Dinner and the opening batsman looks ahead to England's tour of Bangladesh.

The nineteen year-old scored nearly 1,200 runs for the Red Rose this summer, before getting called up for England's Test Tour of Bangladesh, as well as becoming the youngest Lancashire played to be capped since the war and was voted for by the supporters.

We are asked (above) to get closer to the Club as a member.' Could I suggest that the Club gets closer to the Members? Here are a few suggestions: Give us more updates about players who are injured; ensure proper acknowledgement of applause from Members from the players who have reached landmarks such as 50s and centuries; players coming to acknowledge applause of members at the end of games where we have been victorious. On this last, could they even venture to the ropes in front of the pavilion? Too often games, especially championship games, feel like private contests.
