Radiohead, arguably the most influential British Rock Group of the past two decades, have today announced a four date UK tour which includes a concert at Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Sunday 29th June, 2008.
This five piece band from Oxford released their debut album “Pablo Honey” back in 1993 and during October 2007 tore up the industry manual when they allowed fans to name their price to download their latest and seventh album, "In Rainbows”.
June’s concert means Radiohead will join some of the biggest names in Rock and Pop to have performed at Old Trafford over the past 15 years – others include Robbie Williams, Foo Fighters, Oasis, The Cure, Simply Red and the Arctic Monkeys.
Following the announcement this morning, Lancashire’s Commercial Director Geoff Durbin said: “I am very proud that 2008 will be the 8th successive year that we have hosted major concerts, a record that only a handful of the top UK outdoor venues can boast. Radiohead are right up there with some of the biggest names that have played our stadium and we’ll be working very hard to ensure that all spectators attending this event will have a great and memorable time.”
