Lou Vincent is the winner of the Warburtons Player of the Month Award for June.
Vincent was initially signed as cover for Brad Hodge for Lancashire’s Twenty20 Cup campaign, and he didn’t disappoint with the bat or his exceptional fielding. During the Group stages, Vincent scored a brilliant 102 not out against Derbyshire Phantoms and two other half centuries – playing an important role in the Lightning’s charge into the Quarter-Finals.
With Hodge electing to stay at home to help his wife recover from surgery, Cricket Manager Mike Watkinson offered the Kiwi a contract that will see him remain as the club’s Overseas player until the end of the season.
Lou can't explain how proud he is to be Lancashire's newest overseas player. "It's a massive club and you look at the kind of overseas players who have been at this club - they are in a different league.
"It is one of those clubs; they are the Manchester United of cricket. For me to get the cap was massive and I have a lot of pride and passion to play for this team.
"It is great news that I am staying until the end of the season. I am absolutely buzzing."
Voting for July’s Player of the Month Award starts at the completion of Lancashire’s Championship match against Hampshire on 25th July
