Lancashire is into the final phase of completing the installation of the new £600,000 Outfield and Drainage system at Old Trafford.
It only seems like yesterday that the bulldozers first moved in on the 21st August, and by Tuesday (18th), the outfield will be completely covered in lush, mature turf – which is not only compatible with the new drainage system, but the weather conditions in Manchester.
The original plan was to seed the outfield, but with the weather swinging between cold and very cold, the club decided to turf to ensure it had the best possible playing surface for the start of the new season.
