Heavy rain has caused today's NatWest Pro40 match to be abandoned.
The newly installed Old Trafford drainage system is working very well this season but the downpours that fell on Friday and Saturday, plus further heavy rain today took a toll on the areas immediately surrounding the wicket.
With no sun, no wind and poor drying conditions, some of these areas failed to significantly dry out over the course of the afternoon, and it became apparent conditions would not improve sufficiently to allow a reduced overs game to start.
After giving conditions as much time as possible, umpires John Steele and Martin Bodenham had no choice but to call a halt at 4.10pm.
