Day 1: There was an early wicket for Oliver Newby in the 3rd over, bowling Pardoe for 8 but no more wickets fell before lunch. The second session continued in a similar fashion, with runs coming slowly at about three runs per over. Then 3 wickets fell during 7 overs mid-session. Mattie McKiernan had Fell caught at slip for 65, Griffiths claimed the wicket of Kohler-Cadmore for 62 thanks to a diving catch by wicketkeeper Alex Davies, and Phillips top edging an attempted hook off Griffiths to Wayne White. At tea Worcestershire weere 217 for 4 but on the resumption wickets fell quickly. Johnson edged McKiernan to Agathangelou at slip just after reaching 50. Then White cleaned up the rest to finish with 5 for 32 as Worcestershire lost 6 wickets for 44 runs to finish on 266 all out.

Lancashire struggled through 11 testing overs to finish the day on 22 for 2, losing Paul Horton and Liam Livingstone.

Day 2. A hard fought first session saw Lancs lose two wickets before Procter and Davies took charge. They added 72 to take Lancashire to 140 for 4, Procter passing 50 in the over before the break. A short break for rain two overs after the interval didn’t delay Davies reaching his half century. Their partnership of 95 was broken shortly after when Procter was trapped lbw for 63. The rest of the afternoon continued to be a battle, with neither team getting on top for very long. 241-8 at tea, Lancashire were finally bowled out for 265, one short of the Worcestershire total.

Lancashire struck early when Griffiths trapped Pardoe lbw for 11, but that was the last wicket in the 23 overs before the close. Worcestershire finished on 64-1, leading by 65.

Day 3. McKiernan struck in the first over of the day to set the tone, a catch to Procter at short extra cover. Procter joined in with the ball, an lbw in his 3rd over. McKiernan then had the Worcs captain, Johnson caught behind next over. When Procter bowled Hepburn in the following over, the visitors were struggling at 77-5. A partnership of 67 held up Lancashire, but Agathangelou finally broke through to register a second career 5 wicket haul. Worcestershire were bowled out for 152, giving Lancashire a target of 154 to win.

Luis Reece and Paul Horton, on his return from injury, attacked the visitors bowling from the start with an 82-run partnership. Reece went to a good, one-handed catch by Kohler-Cadmore at slip for 33 but Horton went on to reach his 50 in 66 balls, finishing on 82 not out. Agathangelou ended the games with two boundaries just before the tea break to take Lancashire to the top of the North Division of the 2ndXI Championship.
