The ECB's official Investec Ashes Series campaign is called #RISE for England calling on fans to show their support for the team in a number of ways, whilst competing against Australian fans in an online social media battle.
Fans tweeting their messages and pictures of support using #RISE have the chance for their message to be shown to the team ahead of each Test. Since the series began on July 10, there have been over 1 million tweets using #Ashes and over 70,000 using #RISE. All online activity of both England and Australia fans is being tracked here: http://www.ashesfanfaceoff.com/
The imagery which features England players is covering the outer stadium at Emirates Old Trafford, and a special ‘Welcome to Manchester’ poster featuring Lancashire’s James Anderson has been installed in Deansgate ahead of the Test.
Elsewhere this weekend, 27 clubs in Lancashire are hoping to capitalise upon Ashes fever by holding a Club Open Day, where guests can watch the Investec Ashes Series live on Sky Sports and their local team out in the middle.
