Report: After losing Alex Davies with the score on 3, Luis Reece (47) and Karl Brown added 129 for the second wicket before Reece was out in the 28th over, the score 132. With wickets falling at regular intervals Karl Brown continued to dominate, going on to reach a great century from 115 balls. But only Jordan Clark with 32 contributed a significant score as the innings drifted in the last 5 overs with only 31 runs scored for the loss of 5 wickets.

In reply, Derbyshire lost Borrington in the 2nd over before Knight (40) and Hughes (29) added 68 runs for the 2nd wicket, the only one of note in the innings. All the bowlers caused the Derbyshire batsmen problems and runs became increasing hard to find for the visitors. Stephen Parry turned in a fine display of left arm spin, finding the edge of Hughes’ bat in the 22nd over which made the score 75-2, on his way to returning figures of 5-35 from his 10 overs.

From that point Derbyshire began to struggle, and with Alex Davies claiming five victims behind the stumps, were bowled out for 190 in 48.2 overs to leave Lancashire comfortable winners.
