The South African all-rounder impressed when playing for Lancashire's second team last year.
And the 21 year-old, who has a Cypriot passport, has backed up those performances with a solid winter playing for the South African provinicial side North West.
"Andrea showed us a lot of potential last season," said Cricket Director Mike Watkinson. "He has backed that up with some good displays during the winter, and we are delighted that he is joining our professional squad this season."
