Fast bowler Gavin Griffiths took part in our Saturday Club and Graded Nets this week to give the juniors taking part a little Christmas treat.

Griffiths, who has played for all of Lancashire's age group squads before spending the last three years playing for the Lancs Academy and Second XI, has also gained international age-group experience with the England Under 17’s and Under 19’s squads. He recently signed professional terms with the Club.

After taking part in the Saturday Club with boys and girls aged 5-11yrs, he watched the next batch of youngsters coming through the ranks in the Graded Nets session.  As this was the last of the 2012 Graded Nets courses, the coaches each picked a player from their net who had developed the most over the past 5 weeks and those players were awarded with a signed water bottle from Gavin.

Qasim Ali, Lead Coach of the Indoor Cricket Centre, said “Gavin’s a great role model to these young players of what they can achieve here at Lancs and how it’s possible to come right up through the age group system.  It’s moments like these that will inspire them to keep striving to be the best they can be and to keep working hard to achieve their goals."
