We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Les Platts as a Non-Executive Director of Lancashire County Cricket Club.
Mr Platts, a Chartered Accountant, follows Maurice Watkins CBE on to the Board and is the second appointment since Lancashire Members voted to overhaul radically the governing structure of the Club at the 2012 AGM.
A Member of Lancashire County Cricket Club for many years, Mr Platts enjoyed over 30 years with international professional services firm Deloitte, working as an Audit Partner and Practice Senior Partner. He advised at board level on a wide range of financial, commercial and governance issues.
He is a non-executive Director at both AJ Bell, an investment and pensions business, and Leeds Building Society.
Aside from supporting Lancashire County Cricket Club, he is also a keen follower of football and rugby.
LCCC Chairman, Michael Cairns OBE, said: "The Board is delighted to welcome Les as a Non-Executive Director. He has a wealth of experience in business and brings key expertise at a crucial time in the redevelopment of Old Trafford.
"He follows the recently-appointed Maurice Watkins on to a dynamic and experienced Board and Lancashire Members can be assured that our governing structure is well placed to continue to drive the Club forwards into an exciting future.
Mr Platts added: "I am delighted and honoured to join the Board of Lancashire County Cricket Club, a Club I have supported most of my life. I am joining at an exciting time in the Club's history with the huge redevelopment under way and an Ashes Test in only a few months' time. I look forward to contributing to the success of this great Club."
