Lancashire fielded a strong team including Steven Croft, Stephen Moore and Wayne White who were not in the Championship side playing at Emirates Old Trafford. A good start for Leics was only broken with the introduction of Croft, getting Turner to a sharp caught and bowled. Clark struck in the next over to dismiss Hodnett and Leics were 98 for 2 after 18 overs.
The Lancs spinners Croft, Mattie McKiernan and Liam Livingstone slowed the rate before Wells attacked the Lancs bowling. He finally fell to Gavin Griffiths, caught behind for 111 from 68 balls. Lancs took two quick wickets at the end as Leics finished on 268 for 7.
Alex Davies and Moore hammered 97 in 9 overs, and following two wickets falling in the next two overs, a partnership of 78 between Croft and Wayne White pushed Lancs towards the win. Four wickets in 5 overs again put Lancashire on the back foot. Croft with an excellent 92 not out, ably helped by McKiernan 19 not out added 65 in 9 overs to see Lancs comfortably home with 3 wickets and 3 overs to spare.
