Kyle Jarvis took 8 wickets and Haseeb Hameed scored a century as the match between Lancashire 2ndXI and Scotland A ended as a draw at Alderley Edge

Report
1st day - Following a delayed start at 11.30am, new signing Jarvis struck in his second over, trapping Chalmers lbw for 2 and left arm quick Lester bowled Berrington next over for nought. Both bowlers struck again in their third overs to leave Scotland A reeling on 4-4 after 6 overs. They were the last of the wickets in the first session as Scotland A went in to lunch on 96 for 4.

Newby, a late arrival from the first team game at Southport, broke the partnership in his second over after lunch after McLeod (81) and Berrington (40) had added 106 for the 5th wicket. Jarvis returned for his second spell and soon added a further 3 wickets, finishing with 5 for 31, as Scotland A's innings ended at 133 all out in 46 overs.

Brown opened the innings with Hameed after Davies had taken a blow on his thumb in the Scotland innings with Clark taking the gloves. Lancashire made steady progress to reach 87-2 at tea. Two quick wickets on the resumption made the score 98-4 but Newby with 68 and Hameed added 103 for the 5th wicke with some big hitting by Newby who had 4 sixes in his innings. Play was ended for bad light at 7 32pm, Lancashire 204-5 with opener Hameed 49 not out.

2nd day - Lancashire added 48 in 17 overs, Hameed going for 49 in the first over, Jarvis hitting a run a ball 13 and Watkinson a battling 18 to post a lead of 119. Jarvis claimed his sixth wicket of the match when Clark (keeping) caught Chalmers for 12. McLean and Berrington battled either side of lunch adding 80 in 32 overs before Watkinson had McLean caught at slip by Brown. Brown again at slip gave Lester his first wicket of the innings, Scotland at tea 141 for 4 after 52 overs. The last session saw just one wicket fall, Wallace bowled Newby, with only 25 runs then added in 16 overs before the close with Scotland A 209-5 after 84 overs.

3rd day - Lancashire picked up three wickets in the first hour, two more for the impressive Jarvis and one for Newby. Any thoughts of a quick win were dispelled as the Scotland A's tail wagged, adding 29 for the 9th wicket and an unbeaten 109 between Haq (68 not out) & Burnett (61 not out) for the 10th before Scotland declared leaving a target of 263 in a minimum 51 overs.

Brown and Hameed took Lancashire to tea at 36-0 after 9 overs. After tea it was Brown who went first, bowled for 45 trying to push the rate along. Hameed reached his fifty in the 30th over from 81 balls, adding 96 with Clark (41). Dearden joined the fray and the two sixteen year olds added 34 in 5 overs before Dearden departed for 13. With 6 overs remaining and 45 runs required, play was halted due to bad light with two overs lost before play resumed. Hameed reached his century but when was out for 104, with the light closing in, the players shook hands on the draw with 27 runs needed from 9 balls.
