Twenty20 fever has gripped the nation. Lancashire Lightning are making waves in the domestic competition and the ICC World Twenty20 tournament starts in England next week.
The newest form of the game is hard to ignore. Not only does it guarantee big-hitting excitement, fielding that defies belief and nail-biting finishes but it has become a global revolution. Combine the fun with the biggest rivalry in cricket and you get something special.
This is an International match-up that will dominate the headlines all summer: England v Australia. The countries will face-off in a post-Ashes showdown when they compete in two NatWest Twenty20 Internationals at Old Trafford.
Played inside 3 days of each other on Sunday 30th August (2.30pm start) and Tuesday 1st September (floodlit game, 7pm start), the matches will be sure to find the players at their competitive peak after a summer battling to be top of their game.
Twenty20 is a format for all ages and all kinds of cricket supporter. For this reason Lancashire County Cricket Club has committed to 2000 alcohol-free seats in stands E1, E2 and E3 for these matches. Alcohol-free sections ensure that families and those hoping for a more tranquil (but no less entertaining) International cricket experience can choose a specialist option.
Tickets for the matches between England and Australia start at £40 for adults and only £9 for Juniors Under 16.
Tickets are available from the Old Trafford ticket office, by phone on 0161 282 4040 (9am-5pm) or the 24 hour hotline, 08 444 999 666. Alternatively, buy online at www.lccc.co.uk/tickets
