PAUL HORTON has scored a maiden first class career double hundred.
The 28 year-old right handed opener is currently spending his winter playing in the Zimbabwean domestic competition for the Matabeleland Tuskers.
He amassed 209 off 353 balls in the first innings of the Tuskers' ongoing Logan Cup four day match against the Southern Rocks at the Masvingo Sports Club.
Horton's time in the African country has been a successful one, especially in the longer format of the game seen as he had scored 522 runs from five knocks, including two fifties and two tons, prior to the Tuskers' second innings.
Horton had told reporters upon his arrival in Zimbabwe that he wanted to end the campaign as the leading run scorer in the competition. If he continues his current form, he is on course to achieve that goal.
Horton also scored 170 runs from six Twenty20 matches, including the first two half centuries of his 20 over career. Horton played in one match against West Indies legend Brian Lara, who played three matches for the Rocks.
