Peter Moores has stepped up Lancashire’s preparations for the 2013 season with warm weather training in Spain.

Half of the available squad have begun their outdoor training with the other half continuing with their training programmes in Manchester before heading to Spain next week.

The trip to Desert Springs, which has been arranged through David Roberts Physiotherapy, Lancashire's official medical services partner, has given the players their first opportunity to get valuable training time outdoors.

Lancashire's Strength and Conditioning Coach Phil Scott has been tweeting pictures to @LancsCCC from the training sessions, showing the lads being put through their paces on day one.

Scott also elaborated on the photographs and told "The guys started early with a session before breakfast. This was followed by a run down to the gym where they worked on their individual prehab programs and took part in a short conditioning session.

"After breakfast went down it was back to the gym for a heavy weights session. They guys worked hard and deserved the big lunch to refuel! After having a couple of hours off to recharge, it was back to work with a two hour fielding and speed/agility session.

"It was a big day one which will be followed up by a big day two. It was a great effort by all of the lads."
