Glen Chapple took his 900th first-class wicket today in the LV= County Championship match against Gloucestershire
The Lancashire skipper is the 16th Red Rose player to reach this landmark (outside of overseas players who have played for the county), with 863 wickets for Lancashire, and the remainder taken with England A/Rest of England.
Earlier Chapple had also reached 8,000 first-class runs as Lancashire added some useful late-order runs at Aigburth.
It means that only Johnny Briggs (10,707 runs & 1,696 wickets) and Jack Simmons (8,773 runs & 985 wickets) have taken more wickets and scored more runs for Lancashire than Chapple.
Full story and reaction will follow later this evening.
