AGM Update

AGM UpdatePaul Allott was elected on to the Lancashire Committee and the Club revealed their decision on home venues for 2012 at Monday's 2010 AGM

The much-delayed 2010 AGM of Lancashire County Cricket Club was held in The Point at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

Paul Allott was elected to the Cricket Committee unopposed, with the Chairman of the Cricket Committee, Geoff Ogden standing down after 20 years as Cricket Chairman and 25 years on the Club's Committee.

Geoff was made a Vice-President of the Club at last night's meeting and will still be actively involved involved in our development of excellence sub-committee, and on the Lancashire Cricket Board.

Bob Bennett was the successful candidate in the voting for a place on the Membership Committee.

Chairman Michael Cairns and Treasurer David Hodgkiss explained how the Club will gain around £30 million in debt-free value as part of the redevelopment of Old Trafford and outlined some of the difficulties experienced before planning permission for the development was finally granted in 2011.

In presenting the 2010 Accounts showing a loss of £2.1 million, it was revealed that due to the writing-off of assets that had been demolished during the redevelopment, the Club were likely to announce a loss in the region of £3 million for 2011. The Club will return to profitability in 2013 onwards following the completion of the redevelopment and the return of Test cricket as part of the package of matches awarded to the Club for the period 2013-16.

Vice Chairman Geoffrey Shindler outlined some thoughts and ideas relating to the future governance of the Club, explaining that further details will be sent to Members ahead of the 2011 AGM which is expected to take place in March/April 2012. Any changes will be put to Members and subject to voting at an AGM.

Among other business at the AGM it was revealed:-

2012 Fixtures
Next season’s fixtures are due to be released at the end of this week, or early next week. Details will be available on the Club’s website www.lccc.co.uk and a printed copy of the fixtures will be posted to Members, together with Membership renewal information and the new Lancashire Spin magazine, next week.

The fixtures remain confidential until the official release, however our home venues in 2012 are as follows:
• 4 of our County Championship matches will be at Old Trafford
• The remaining four Championship matches will be at outgrounds
• All of our one-day matches will be at Old Trafford

Membership renewals
LCCC places a huge value on Members' support and the Club was keen to point out in 2011 that we would reward the loyalty of those Members who have stayed with us through difficult times.

As a result, the Club have decided there will be no increase in Members subscriptions for the 2012 season.

As an additional thank you, we will be sending all our 2011 Members an exclusive Champions Key Ring to commemorate the team's outstanding Championship success. The key rings will not be sold and will only be sent to all 2011 adult Members and junior Thunderbolts. They will be posted out before the start of the new season.

Ashes 2013
Tickets for Old Trafford’s Ashes Test Match in 2013 will go on sale in September 2012, and we will send Members a priority booking form so that Members are guaranteed to be able to book seats for this much anticipated match.

Members facilities in 2012
The Pavilion itself will be undergoing major changes throughout 2012 and, as a result, the Club will be erecting temporary Members facilities on the main car park. These facilities will include a bar, TV, catering facilities with tea and coffee, with hot and cold food also available.

These temporary facilities will be available to Members and their guests throughout the season at home matches, including the two England Internationals.

Members will also be able to use the Atrium bar in The Point on match days, subject to availability.

Members seating areas will be made available in both Stand A (next to the Pavilion) and in the Stand underneath The Point, to help Members be ‘behind the arm’ as much as possible.

A new wheelchair access area will be created at the side of Stand L (between The Point and the Executive Boxes), with shaded areas provided.

Full details will be sent to Members in March, showing clearly all the available facilities.

Car Parking
The number of available spaces will be restricted due to the Pavilion development and, as a result, it is likely we will only be able to take car park renewals in 2012.

Members Pavilion Meeting
There will be an informal Members meeting on Saturday 10th December at 10.30am to discuss the Pavilion improvements, and we would value your input at this meeting.

International matches in 2012
We are hoping to have tickets on sale for our two International matches in 2012 as soon as possible, ideally before Christmas. With the construction of new stands at OId Trafford, plus the re-seating of virtually all of the existing stands, we are waiting to confirm the final details of the seating plans for the stadium before going on sale. We expect these plans to be completed very shortly, and will then send out ticket application forms to Members.

Championship Celebration
In celebration of cricketing success in Lancashire in 2011 we will be holding a very special event with Peter Moores and members of the Lancashire team in The Point on Wednesday 29 February 2012 for Members and their guests.

2011 was an amazing year for cricket in the county which culminated in our first outright County Championship in 77 years. Come and join us and other successful clubs from the county as we reflect on a magical season.

Prices are £25 per head, which includes a two-course buffet. Tickets from 0161 282 4040.

Magical Season DVD & Champions Book Launch
The Club are producing a DVD on Lancashire’s Championship success, ‘Lancashire’s Magical Season’ and this is priced at £12 for Members (normal price is £15). Order forms are available tonight, and the DVD is due out in early December.

There is also a book, ‘Champions – About Bloomin’ Time’ priced £16.99 and order forms can also be obtained tonight.

There will be joint launch of the DVD and book in the Red Rose Suite at Old Trafford on Tuesday 6th December (3pm-6pm). Everybody welcome.
