Children attending our Saturday Club sessions will be in for a special treat this weekend with LCCC's Kyle Hogg on hand to show them what it takes to make it as a professional cricketer.
The all-rounder will be at the Indoor Cricket Centre at Old Trafford on Saturday morning to sign autographs as well as offering advice on how to play cricket.
Saturday Club sessions are basic, fun and game-based sessions that teach kids the fundamentals of batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping in addition to the basics of LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) such as balance, coordination and agility.
The emphasis is on ‘fun, enjoyment and participation’ and serves to prepare young players for an introduction to hardball cricket, giving them the confidence to take the step up to Graded Nets.
The Graded Nets sessions start again in October 2012 and sessions are varied to keep them fun and enjoyable and often involve player appearances, competitions, tournaments, certificates, prize giving, sessions on the outfield at Old Trafford (during the summer, where possible) and tours of the dressing rooms.
Saturday Club costs £5.00 per session and runs every Saturday between 9:30am and 11:30am. There is no need to book in advance and you can turn up on the day. Please note: these sessions are only available for children aged between 5 and 11 years.
