Report: Tom Smith and Gavin Griffiths bowled a tight opening spell with Smith trapping Maddy in front in the last over of his spell. Adnan Ghaus struck in his 2nd over when Lewis edged behind to Alex Davies to leave Warwicks 55-2 after 14 overs.
Piolet and Hain (48) rebuilt the innings before Tom Bailey finally removing Piolet for 79 with Warwickshire 169-3 in the 36th over. Smith returned to take two wickets in his last two overs, but it was Bailey in the last over who did the damage, claiming a hat-trick; Alin caught by Jordan Clark at long on, with Milnes and Ali both clean bowled as Warwicks finished on 197-8.
Lancashire started with a more attacking approach to reach 52-2 after 8 overs, Smith (25) and Moore (24) the men out. Then the loss of 3 wickets in 3 overs ripped the heart out of the middle order to leave Lancashire 89-5 after 16 overs. Davies (38) and Lilley (17) added 35 but both fell with the score on 124. It was Bailey and Mattie McKiernan who rallied the Red Rose reply with a partnership of 42 in 11 overs for the 8th wicket, followed by 29 between Bailey and Gavin Griffiths taking Lancashire to the brink of victory. Then Bailey departed for 32 at the end of the 38th over with 3 runs still required from 2 overs. Griffiths and last man Adnan Ghaus survived a close run out chance to steer Lancashire home with 1 ball to spare.
