Lancaster 105 all out
Colts 87 all out
Lancaster CC won by 18 runs - Full Scorecard
In overcast conditions at Lancaster, the Colts won the toss and elected to field first on a firm grassy surface offering early seamer friendly conditions. Opening bowlers Ben Roberts and Richard Dempster made early inroads with a wicket each, including Swarbrick who was out to a superb catch at long leg by Dempster (off Roberts) and Welborne, taken at slip by Jones to make the home side 10-2 inside 10 overs.
The introduction of Ben Maddocks and John Dotters into the attack saw the spinners combine to remove five Lancaster wickets in a tandem effort for Colts. The home side were all out for 105 in the 41st overs with only Ahmad's 46 off 47 balls providing any resistance.
Colts bowling: Ben Maddocks 9-1-27-3, Richard Dempster-7.5-2-16-2, John Dotters-9-1-30-2, Rob Jones-4-0-9-2, Ben Roberts 7-6-2-1.
Lancashire openers Fraser Philips and James Drummond departed early, to leave the Colts at 18-2 at 10 overs in reply. A 3rd wicket partnership of 29 between Mark Waddington and captain Rob Jones then steadied the innings, but Lancaster's Simm and Perrimen accounted for both batsmen. That heralded a collapse to 87 all out off 41.4 overs as Lancaster won by 18 runs with Simm returning 14.5-4-26-5 as the best of the bowling figures.
Our next game will see us play Blackpool CC on Sunday 2nd June.
