TICKETS FOR this summer's international fixtures at Old Trafford are proving to be a big hit for supporters after Lancashire County Cricket Club reported brisk sales for England's forthcoming games against Australia and South Africa
With over 7,000 tickets sold in the first few days of sale for England’s NatWest Series One-Day International against Australia on Tuesday 10 July and with tickets also selling quickly for the NatWest International T20 against South Africa on Monday 10 September, the summer of 2012 promises to be an exciting one for cricket lovers in the North West of England.
Lancashire’s Commercial Director Geoff Durbin said: “We are delighted with the ticket sales for both games which illustrate the desire and appreciation people in this part of the country have for international cricket.
“Old Trafford is currently undergoing a transformation which will see the ground become one of the best venues for cricket in the country in time for The Ashes next year. Until the redevelopment is completed, our usual crowd capacity will be significantly lower.
“Therefore, we urge those who are interested in watching England play this summer to purchase their tickets as soon as possible - the Australia game is heading towards a very quick sell-out while sales for the South Africa game are also strong.”
Tickets, which start from £45 for adults and from £10 for children under the age of 16, can be purchased over the phone by calling 0161 282 4040 or 08 444 999 666 (24 hr) or by booking online by clicking here.
