Lancashire Form U10s Boys Squad

Lancashire cricket has broken new ground with the introduction of the county's under 10 boys squad.

The formation of this younger age group has come following a significant increase in participation amongst boys in primary schools who will now be able to reap the benefits of coaching at a younger age.

As part of their development, this year’s squad will take part in a three days festival in Taunton, competing against Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Cornwall.

Stephen Titchard, LCB Performance Manager, said: “The time is right to extend the County coverage. As a result of investment and a lot of hard work amongst Cricket Development Groups and local cricket clubs all around the County, more youngsters than ever before are playing the game. We have the infrastructure to begin the process at an earlier age and look forward to an exciting and successful first season.”
The introduction of the u10s squad is another positive step for the LCB who met the ECB target for the fifth year in a row for 2010/11.
