My first diary entry of 2009!
I thought that as the cricket season is about to start, I’d better get my diary up and running again! It’s been a quiet winter, mostly rest and relaxation. I’ve had a mane cut, my horns are healthy and my fur is clean and shiny – I’m ready to go!
I’ve just had my first appointment of the year at Hough End playing fields. We had a photo shoot for ‘Procession’; a parade of mascots which will take place in July as part of Manchester International Festival. I’ve never seen so many mascots at once!
There was Fred the Red from Manchester United; Moonchester and Moonbeam from Manchester City; Lofty the Lion from Bolton Wanderers; Chaddy the Owl from Oldham Athletic; Robbie the Bobby from Bury FC and Animo and Fide Bears from Stockport County!
We had pictures taken as a group and then they wanted to film us – I wish someone had told me – the camera adds 10 pounds apparently and I’m still working off my layer of insulation!
We had a penalty shoot-out and you’ll be pleased to know I scored past Fred the Red – I hoofed it into the net! I had less luck in goal though, I might be tall but I’m not very agile and I ended up on the floor!
It was all a good warm-up for the new season, which is now only three weeks away! Crikey. The players are looking good in the nets and I’m looking excellent in the dance studio. I’m working on a few new moves for the 2009 season and I can’t wait for you all to see them!
Don’t forget you can add me on facebook and Twitter! I’m enjoying Twitter, during the season I’ll be posting match and weather updates from the boundary’s edge so you won’t need to miss a thing.
See you all at the first match on 19th April! It’s a 12noon start for the FPT game against Glamorgan Dragons – I’m so looking forward to it!
