OLIVER NEWBY has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The right arm fast/medium bowler injured his right knee during training last week.
Results from an examination on Wednesday confirmed the extent of the 25 year old's injury.
LCCC Cricket Director Mike Watkinson said: "This is a blow for Ollie and for the Club but he will have an operation on his knee and we are confident he'll be back for the start of next season. Everybody at the club wishes him well with his recovery."
