David 'Bumble' Lloyd was on hand to switch on Old Trafford's new permanent floodlights on Wednesday
Each of the 4 floodlights stand 53 metres tall, and each floodlight 'head' weighs 5 tons and carries 107 bulbs.
The bulbs deliver 2,000 lux out to the wickets in the middle, with 1,500 lux at the boundary edge.
The lights are next in use tomorrow (Friday) for Lancashire Lightning's final home FLt20 match of the season against Northants Steelbacks (7.10pm start), and then again next Monday (July 18) for the Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Somserset (4.40pm start).
