Lancashire have two players on Scholarship contracts in 2011, Nick Caunce and Jordan Clark
Nick (pictured above) has been offered a Scholarship for a second year in recognition of his potential and in recognition of his performances in 2010.
He has matured as a cricketer after spending a number of winters in Australia. He bowls right arm medium fast and has a regular habit of surprising top order batters. His desire to succeed has been evident in his fitness during pre season and this allied to a strong competitive will to win are two of the reasons the Club have decided to invest in him.
Jordan Clark is a product of Sedbergh School and one of Cumbria’s Young Cricketers. Jordan was brought to our attention after strong performances against other schools. He was only the second player from Cumbria to be invited onto Lancashire’s Academy and his progress onto a Scholarship Agreement started from there.
This will be Jordan’s second year with us after struggling with a stress fracture to his back in the winter of 2010. This followed a year in which he bowled competitively for the first time in senior cricket. Primarily a batsman, Jordan can also keep wicket and his progress has been significant in many areas since being with us full time. He made his Lancashire First Team debut against Worcestershire at Liverpool last year.
