ICONIC BAND, Inspiral Carpets, will be performing a special set on ‘home soil' when ‘Two Worlds Collide' at Old Trafford for England's NatWest International T20 match against South Africa on Monday 10 September
Famed for other tracks such as, ‘This Is How It Feels’ and ‘Saturn 5’, the Oldham-based group will perform some of their best known hits prior to the start of the game, before playing stings throughout the course of the contest.
Graham Lambert, founder and guitarist of the Inspiral Carpets said: “I cannot wait to be involved with the game. It’s a momentous occasion being the first ever live band to perform their songs during an international T20 game.
“We have had a ground breaking year performing at several UK festivals as well as undertaking Greek & South American tours.
“These are exciting times at Old Trafford. The ground development has been an exciting phase for the Club and once it’s complete, we’ll have one of the best cricket stadiums in the world.
“All of the band are Lancastrians and most of us are big fans of cricket, so we hope to create a real buzz around Old Trafford on the night.”
Tickets for the game, which also features a women’s international between England and the West Indies earlier in the day, are on general sale and are priced from £45.00 for adults and £10.00 for children.
