The Point taste sensation

The Point taste sensation
The team at The Point, located at Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC), are aware that one of the key factors to successful conferences and events is catering.

So who better to ask on the subject than organisers that have visited the Old Trafford Cricket Club in the past and will be doing so again in the not too distant future.

Over 50 of LCCC’s most valued customers responded to an invitation to a special tasting day, aimed at giving them the first taste of the many exciting food and drink options that may appear on The Point’s menu. Not only were they given a taste of the food but also a taste of how The Point will look when completed with a showing of the recently produced fly through DVD.

The Point’s sales manager Peter Ash said: “From a lot of the research we have carried out, food has been very high on the list as an important feature. We thought it would be good to get an immediate opinion on the food our catering team have produced by having our customers sample the dishes that may well be on The Point’s first menu.”

Head Chef Nic Ashurst and his team produced an eclectic mix of dishes, which had the taste buds of the visitors crying out for more. Dishes on the day included black pudding tower, citrus chicken and chorizo salad, loin of pork with apricot farci, cottage pie with bubble and squeak cappuccino. And just to whet their palates even more, 5 varieties of champagne accompanied this splendid feast.

Peter Ash Adds: “The feedback on the day was excellent. Nic and his team had put together a veritable feast that was greatly enjoyed by those attending. They were also impressed by how The Point will look when completed”

‘The Point’ is going to be one of the most prestigious event venues in the country.  Due for completion in June 2010, this purpose-built facility will be able to accommodate a conference or a formal dinner for up to 1,000 people.
